Fall is a great time to plant! Roots get established before winter and then grow even faster in the spring. Need more fall flowering interest in your garden? I have favorites based on low maintenance and easy to grow.

Here are my top 5 fall perennials:

1. Toad lilies- Tricyrtis does well in the shade and has beautiful flowers in the fall

2. Monkshood- Aconitum also does well in the shade and also has a great fall flower

4. Little blue stem grass does well in the sun and has gorgeous red and purple color in the fall and is still pretty when it dies back in winter
