‘Southern Gentleman’ is a male plant and is generally grown only as a pollinator for certain female winterberry cultivars (e.g., I. verticillata ‘Winter Red’). One ‘Southern Gentleman’ will generally be sufficient for pollinating 9-10 female plants.
