Elkridge Client Gets New Low Maintenance Landscape– Here is an example of a job we love to do! This client wanted to update her landscape so that she could enjoy it more. She wanted it to be easy to take care of and look good year round. She didn’t want to waste any time or money trying to figure it out herself so she came to the professionals at Lauren’s Garden Service! We were able to guide her through the entire process easily and quickly!

1. We made a design and showed it to her along with pictures of the plants to be planted. In this case she liked everything we selected and went with our original design.  Some clients prefer to change some of the plants and we work with them to figure out the best possible plants for their taste. This design incorporated plants that are low maintenance and that add year round interest to the landscape. This particular design focused more on flowering plants then on all evergreen shrubs.  It will be FULL of flowers from spring through fall and have berries and evergreens in the winter!

2. The work begins! We removed some old shrubs, shaped and dug a nice edge for the bed and amended the soil with compost and natural fertilizers. We carefully placed all the new plants and checked and checked again to make sure everything was placed properly and looked good from all angles. We allow room for the plants to grow in over time so plants aren’t overcrowded within a few years. Usually we start with some larger ‘specimen’ plants and smaller shrubs so that there is a height difference right away. This allows the landscape to look good from the beginning, even though the plants are still ‘babies and will grow in’.

3. Next we planted everything, watered it in really well and mulched. We gave the client the info she needs to maintain her new landscape or have us out to do that for her! Doesn’t it look fabulous? This was planted in the late fall so imagine how spectacular this is going to look in season when the plants are flowering! We’ll show you pictures then, so keep in touch!

This client can now come home from work and enjoy walking up to her front door. She doesn’t look at her landscape and think ‘what a mess’ or ‘there’s so much work to be done’. She saved time, money and enjoyment by coming to a professional to do the work!
