CLEANSCAPES 2023 SIGN UP OPENS APRIL 1ST!!
I am so excited that it is spring! First I want to tell you that you can have us design and install a conservation landscape or rain garden at 75% the cost if approved by the Howard County Cleanscapes program! This program fills very quickly and opens up for sign up on April 1st! Last year all spots were filled within a few hours of the sign up form opening up. If your house was built before 2003 and you have a place where you can locate a rain garden or conservation landscape to replace grass, eroded areas (not under trees because of roots) or to intersect run off from impermeable surfaces like a roof, driveway, patio or sidewalk, then you would be a good candidate for the program. Projects approved by the County will be installed in Spring 2023. Check out the program now and apply on April 1st! We cannot come out and do an estimate for this project before your site is preapproved so you need to start the process with the County!
Celebrate With Us
We’ve been working behind the scenes to get the nursery ready for our first spring at our new location. We’re so excited to have more space to carry more native plants! Jessica is working hard to get the nursery ready for opening day on Monday April 11th. We’re so excited to be open 7 days a week now! Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm.
Please come celebrate our new location with us on Saturday April 23rd from 10am-5pm. We’ll have giveaways like zippered LGS/Cultivate totes and milkweed plants, music, Greek on the Street food truck, a talk about supporting pollinators by Nancy Lawson, author of The Humane Gardener and more! The whole Westwood Antiques building will be celebrating with us! Visit the Long & Foster office for an hourly raffle of a $50 LGS Native Plant Nursery gift card.
If you haven’t checked out our beautiful Garden & Goods store Cultivate then you are in for a big treat! The store is open the same hours as the nursery except it’s year round!

Howard County CleanScapes
Apply April 1st for deep discounts on eco friendly landscaping, conservation landscapes, rain gardens and drainage solutions! Howard County CleanScapes is a program that, if approved, covers 75% of the cost of the installation of different stormwater best management practices such as rain gardens or conservation landscapes. You can also reduce your Watershed Protection Fee. Applications open April 1 and fill up quickly.
If you apply this spring and are approved for projects they will be installed by the contractor of your choice in spring 2023.

Nursery Consultations
Spend an hour with Jessica to ask plant questions, gardening advice, & plan your next project. She will give you a private tour of our inventory, help choose plants to take home that day or order plants for pick up. This option is great for new gardeners or do-it-yourselfers who need some one-on-one time with an experienced gardener & designer. Time slots are limited & available by appointment only. Email laurensgardens@gmail.com & include “Nursery Consultation” in the subject line. Cost: $125/hour.
