Drainage Fix in Ellicott City
Last summer a client contacted us hoping that we could help fix drainage issues in her yard. Multiple spots in her yard had issues with rain water runoff and pooling. We installed two rain gardens as well as a small flagstone patio and retaining wall.
The rain garden above was designed to be a deer resistant shade rain garden. It was designed and built to qualify for a $1200 reimbursement from the Howard County Cleanscapes program.

Pennsylvania sedge – Carex plantaginea
White turtlehead – Chelone glabra
‘Gold Leaf’ Bleeding heart – Dicentra spectabilis
Blue flag iris – Iris versicolor
Sweetspire – Itea virginica
Coastal leucothoe – Leucothoe axillaris
‘Sherwood Purple’ Creeping phlox – Phlox stolonifera
Christmas fern – Polystichum acrostichoides
