Landscape/Garden Crew Work outside, stay in shape, have fun!

Full time/Mondays through Thursdays  7:45am-5:45pm
Seasonal position:   March-December
Pay- $12-18/hr – Depending on experience

We are a small, local, eco-friendly garden company looking for crew members who share similar passions. Crew members weed, edge, prune, plant, mulch, and install landscapes and gardens as well as stone work (we do not do lawn care and mowing). We focus on eco-friendly practices and install a lot of rain gardens and use native plants. Any interest or knowledge about these subjects is not required but a bonus.  This job is full time, 40 hours a week from March until the end of December.  In the event of heavy rain, that work day will be cancelled and made up for on the following Friday.

Duties:

  • Weed, edge, prune, plant, mulch, and install landscapes and gardens
  • Follow direction of crew leaders and follow company standards to provide the best service to clients

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
  • Candidates must have their own reliable transportation. We meet in Glenwood at 7:45 to load up trucks.
  • Must be on time for work, detail oriented, listen to instructions and behave professionally.
  • A CBLP certification is not a must, but a bonus!

Compensation:

Healthcare benefits after 3 months
Returning crew get paid holidays and birthday in 2nd year
10 weeks of unemployment insurance is provided over winter for those returning for the next season

Native Plant Nursery Manager

Love native plants and working outside?  We are looking for a self starter who is detailed, organized, and communicative.  Must be flexible with a variety of indoor administrative and outdoor nursery tasks.

General Duties

  • Watering nursery plant, client hold section plants and containers and gardens on property
  • Accepts and unloads deliveries
  • Moves and organizes plants
  • Takes thorough and accurate plant inventories and updates them on website and social media
  • Help with merchandising, promotion of nursery stock, pots, containers gardens and other items for sale
  • Organize the nursery area
  • Weed pots, fix signage, arrange plants
  • Help customers visiting the nursery in plant selection and moving purchases to their car
  • Keeping track of sales through paperwork and inventory
  • Putting signs out for Saturday sales at nursery
  • Working the Sat spring and fall sales at the nursery
  • Assist the admin in organizing client plant hold section
  • Help promote the nursery and off site sales through social networking, daily instagram and facebook posts, hanging post cards on local bulletin boards
  • Help with writing and posting blogs and other social networking and business promotion strategies

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
  • A working knowledge of some native plants.
  • Candidates must have their own reliable transportation.
  • Must be on time for work, detail oriented, listen to instructions and behave professionally.
  • A CBLP certification is not a must, but a bonus!

Pay

$16-$20/hr, healthcare after 3 months, paid holidays 2nd season, unemployment benefits over winter.

Hours

40 hours a week

Mon-Thursday with 6 Saturdays in Spring and 6 in fall

Landscape/Garden Crew Leader

We are seeking an experienced garden maintenance crew leader for the 2019 gardening season. We have several clients gardens that we maintain on a monthly basis. We offer custom, adaptive garden bed care. Tasks include driving company dump trailer, leading and supervising maintenance crew, delivering the jobs done on time or under time with excellent quality and customer service. Communication with client and office is very important.

Full time/Mondays through Thursdays  7:45am-5:45pm

Seasonal position:   March-December

Pay- $18-$22/hr – Depending on experience

Duties:

  • Lead and supervise maintenance or install crew to carry out jobs and projects.
  • Ensure that jobs are completed in the time estimate while maintaining quality of service
  • Communicating with clients on site
  • Communicating with office and project managers
  • Weed, edge, prune, plant, mulch, and install landscapes and gardens
  • Drive company trucks and trailer
  • Pick up materials such as plants, mulch, and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
  • Candidates must have their own reliable transportation. We meet in Glenwood at 7:45 to load up trucks.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be on time for work and detail oriented, listen to instructions and behave professionally.

*Administrative Assistant/Social Networking A fast paced, creative position that involves basic office organization skills and an interest in writing and creating in the areas of marketing and social networking!

We are a small, local, eco-friendly garden company looking for an administrative assistant to work closely with Lauren doing a variety of tasks. This position handles client communication, requests for work, scheduling for jobs and crew, help with hiring crew, help updating and developing content for the website, social networking and blogging, updating portfolio pics on the website, caring for our small native plant nursery by checking inventory, organizing and watering and helping with special events like classes, fall and spring plant sales and much more! We are passionate about sustainability and ecofriendliness. Any interest or knowledge about these subjects is not required but would be a bonus!

Must be able to work in Glenwood, MD Monday-Thursday 7:45-5:45

Must be organized and a good multitasker and able to prioritize, good at communication

Work slows down in December, no work Jan and Feb
