MANTS 2016 Sparked the Creative Gardener within Me
I have heard of MANTS- Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show- many times throughout the years and am embarrassed to report this was my first year in attendance! It was great! I am lucky enough to be located only 15 mintues from the Convention Center so it was an easy trip in. Nurseries and suppliers to the growers/landscapers/contractors all put on their best displays. I spent 4 hours there and only got to a little more than half of the event. I did find some really exciting displays that inspired me creatively. Here are some of my favorite photos! For this gardening year I am thinking of metal containers and garden accents, miniature gardens in various containers- glass, metal, wooden and of course native plants-yay!
The colors, the textures, the miniatures, oh my!
A living wall frame planted with succulents.
Check out these living wall frames- I need one now.
I was super excited about this display- check out the old pallets cut up and painted a reused for this display- awesome!
More miniature plant eye candy. The colors, the textures, oh my!

Some amazing things made with natural materials. Those hooks are carved out of some type of plant as well!
LOVE
Love the wooden boxes
These are some really high quality pots that are pretty and a local small biz too
Love the weathered teal/turquoise color on these pots.
I’m becoming quite fond of various uses for metal in the garden. Look for containers and other garden designs with these in the near future!
I loved this company’s display- gorgeous!
I like the wooden planter box constructed around the lentin rose and boxwood. I also LOVE the garden structure with the planter box at the bottom
and decorative vine balls at the top. There must be more official names for these things…
Love all the textures and colors together and why is miniature anything so irresistible?
This wreath is made out of birch branches.
I love these hanging terrarium containers and I also love the display!
